In response to the global call to save energy and the staggering increases in gas prices has resulted in a plethora of energy-saving tips from the Government and energy-saving companies. But the fact still remains, if we want to reduce our gas bill we’ve got to use less.
The g-save Boiler Geen warm water Economiser is one of the most efficient and cost effective ways to do just that. Winner of the Good Housekeeping magazine ‘Green Living Award 2009 and finalist for the 2009 Green Business Awards ‘Green Product’ category, the g-save produces the best results on fully-pumped systems (definition of a fully-pumped system = central heating boiler + hot water cylinder + room thermostat + programmer).
Independent trials have recorded dramatic savings: from 22% in a two bedroom terraced cottage, to 34% in a four bedroom detached house (calculated on actual meter readings with, and without, the g-save).
John Pett, a qualified gas engineer and consultant from Kent, performed independent gas energy usage tests over a two-week period in a three bedroom semi-detached house. Occupied by two adults and two late teenage children, the property recorded a massive 22% saving on their gas usage with the installation of the g-save. (The weather conditions were fairly similar throughout the two weeks.).
The patented device has two electronic timers that each pulse at different pre-set times: they run 24-hours a day, seven days a week. One timer is wired into the room thermostat whilst the other is wired into the hot water cylinder thermostat wiring.
The g-save pulses the demand for heat so that the latent heat in the system that is still moving around is used to full effect even when the boiler is not active, thus making substantial savings on gas usage.
Fitting the device to your central heating system is quick and easy: it is user friendly and you will see the benefits almost immediately.
Some energy-saving facts
Once installed, the g-save cuts gas consumption by on average 22% making it a great way to reduce heating bills. Not only can you look forward to lower gas bills, but you will be reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from your boiler.
In fact If all the 13 million gas-fuelled homes in the UK had the device fitted and if they reduced their fuel consumption by only 20%, that would cut emissions by 8.5 million tonnes of CO2 every year!
