This magnificent fort is perched at a height of 122 meters above sea level and enclosed by imposing thick walls of red sandstone. It was founded by Rao Jodha the fifteenth Rathore ruler in 1459. Lake Palace:
The Lake Palace is among the most beautiful palaces in the world arising out of the azure waters of the Pichola Lake. This is one of the ranked romantic destinations of the world which summons tourists from several parts of the globe. It was built in the 17th century on a 4 acre rocky platform. Initially it was known as Jagniwas, because of its founder Maharana Jagjit Singh. This palace has 83 luxury rooms which are decorated with cusped arches which are inlaid with pink stones and green colored lotus leaves carvings and painted mirrors.
